"Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a Level I Trauma facility - taking on the highest level of trauma care available. With 40 patient beds, the emergency department serves over 70,000 patients each year and is equipped to handle a variety of emergencies. Emergency medicine board-certified or board-eligible physicians staff all Sentara emergency departments, and on-call specialists are utilized to assist with patient care as needed. Our goal is to use these available resources to provide each patient with the best care possible, in the timeliest way possible."
